Major (メジャー)


A sports manga series by Takuya Mitsuda. It is serialized in Shōnen Sunday and has been collected in 75 tankōbon volumes to date. The series has been adapted as an anime series produced by NHK and Studio Hibari. An animated film telling the story between the first and second seasons of the anime was released on December 2008.

The story of Major follows the life of Goro Honda, from kindergarten to being a professional baseball player, seeking and overcoming tremendous challenges.

Shigeharu Honda is a professional Japanese baseball player for Yokohama Blue Oceans. His son, Goro, one day hopes to become like his father. Until Joe Gibson, a Major Leager got a contract for Tokyo Warriors and face off with Yokohama Blue Oceans' Shigeharu Honda and the tragedy happened.

The story is about Goro who tries his hardest to fulfill his dream by overcoming all the obstacles and by reaching his goal, The Major League.
